Summit Pilates opened in 2015. We are a boutique studio that offers a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates. We utilize the Pilates Reformer, Chair, Cadillac Tower, barre and other props to quickly achieve a sleek, defined physique. Summer of 2018 we expanded the studio to Summit Training, now offering more fitness services to our community. We focus on small class sizes to offer a more individualized and personal style of training. This training method allows you to better understand proper form, set and achieve specific goals, be apart of a community, and have fun!

We offer quality based classes and training services. Summit Pilates & Training welcomes all fitness levels and encourages individuals to step out side of their comfort zone to experience the amazing benefits of all our classes and find your greatest wellness SUMMIT. All of our trainers are well trained and provide a safe and comfortable environment.  We are proud to be apart of the Downtown White Bear Lake community and thank each and every one of our clients for their support. We thrive to serve others and promote health and wellness within the community.

    “We both have enjoyed working out over our adult lives, having tried everything from weight lifting to running to yoga. As we have gotten older, we have been looking for a workout that was tough, but also manageable as our bodies are ever changing and we have more aches and pains then we used to.

    Our workouts at Summit have been that work out we've been looking for. Summit's classes yield a great workout, but we always leave feeling better than we did when we walked in to class. Since starting classes at Summit, we've found our cores are stronger (which has led to a flatter stomach), our joints are more flexible, and our bodies are overall more toned. We've also found that our bodies feel better after our other workouts, such as walking and running, as we believe our muscles are leaner, stronger, and are working more in "concert." The workouts at Summit are truly different than anything we've ever experienced at another gym. We no longer dread working out, but instead truly look forward each week to our classes at Summit!”

    " I scheduled my one on one reformer sessions with Alex to try something new, and I knew I had finally found something I enjoyed and didn’t dread doing. I love the Pilates Reformer classes because I have been able to strengthen and tone muscles I never really used before and it has become a great mind and body connection for me. The classes have really helped me strengthen and tone my muscles while mixing in some cardio that is not too overwhelming for me. The instructors do a fantastic job ensuring each class is different and full of variety! I enjoy being able to work the same muscle groups but in different ways and using different techniques each week. My energy level and stamina has also increased. I finally feel healthy! Another bonus, my family and friends have even noticed the difference in my body, my energy levels and my overall attitude. I would not have been able to commit to working out if I had not found Summit Pilates, believe me I’ve tried many times. The instructors are so welcoming, encouraging and helpful. I love the small class sizes. They allow me to get one on one attention when needed, and seeing many of the same people in classes creates a sense of community and support that helps keeps me committed. The main thing I have found that works for me and keeps me committed, is signing up ahead of time for classes. It keeps me accountable!     “Why do you workout? I work out because it fuels my body AND my mind! I have more physical energy after a workout and my mind always feels more relaxed.

    What benefits have you experienced from regular workouts? The benefits I have received from regular workouts are many! The most obvious is I have become much stronger. I have also gone down 3 pant sizes and it’s been fun to shop again. Another, and probably the best benefit, has been a reduction in my stress levels.

    What motivates you to keep going? I am motivated to keep working out on a regular basis for the sheer reason that I want stay strong and continue feeling more relaxed.

    What are your favorite forms of exercise? My favorite forms for exercising are Pilates, Yoga Sculpt, and Circuit Training. This combination provides the strength I’m needing (Pilates), flexibility and strength training (Yoga), and also weight training and cardio (Circuit). I get all my necessary areas of fitness in these three classes.

    I LOVE Summit Pilates and Training! For 30 years, I have tried many fitness centers, and this is the first that I truly feel welcomed, appreciated and cared for. Each instructor takes into account what each of the participants need and want. They’re also very conscience of any exercise restrictions we might have. The owner, Alex, has created a warm and inviting environment, pushes us to be our best, as a bonus, I have made some new friends!”

    “Exercise has always been a part of my life and something I enjoy doing. My husband and children are all very athletic so I needed to attempt to stay in shape to keep up! I had played Tennis all my life until being sidelined three years ago with a knee injury and subsequently hanging up my racquet for good. I decided that being a member of a BIG BOX health club was no longer needed for me to stay in shape and that is when I found Summit Pilates and Training. Pilates has been a part of my routine for the past 15+ years, so I decided to meet with Alex and discuss my knee issues. Alex is truly the only trainer I have ever met who takes a personal interest in you as an individual with individual needs. She adjusts accordingly to your daily needs in class and always has an alternative if something is not working quite well. I never feel that I cannot ask a question or just take a break if needed. The studio atmosphere that Alex and her team of wonderful instructors have created is welcoming to the beginner just joining a new class and also to the more advanced. The variety of classes are a perfect fit for me as I like to mix it up a bit and am usually in the studio 4-5 days a week. I always feel so welcomed and appreciate the instructors feedback on my exercise/health goals. I have found that the variety of classes and instructors at Summit works perfectly for my lifestyle and daily schedule too. I feel so grateful to have found such a wonderful studio!”

    “Our names are Jason & Becky Becker, we’ve been together for almost 30 years, living in the community for over 20 years. I work full time in the financial industry & Jason has been at home now for a little over 10 years as he has cystic fibrosis & brain cancer. We cannot say enough good things about the trainers, the studio & the others we have met in our classes- it is a wonderful group of people to be a part of! This is how our journey at Summit began. I started coming first, doing private sessions for Pilates. By the end of my first couple sessions I was so excited- about the studio, the trainers & the benefits of the workout that I was already seeing & feeling- I just knew I had to get Jason to try this out. This was not an easy task, as Jason was very skeptical. Jason did agree to come to my last session to watch only. Well my last session was with Stacy and if you’ve worked out with her at all you know she has an amazing talent for getting you to try things you never thought you’d do! Stacy had Jason on a machine working out with me within 5 minutes of starting - jeans & all-and he’s never looked back! In the time that we’ve been coming Jason has been able to improve his lung function, gain weight along with muscle mass & improve his balance- all things that have been enormously challenging for him over the past few years. I’ve been able to improve my flexibility & muscle tone, lose weight, challenge myself more & most importantly restore my self-confidence. We’re all there with the same goals & the encouragement along with the sense of community & care shines through in every class you attend.     “I found Summit a few years ago when I was ready to get in shape after my twin pregnancy and birth. I had exercised on and off over the years but was never able to stick with anything long enough to produce a meaningful result. When I started looking around for something new (again) Summit was attractive because of the small class sizes and boutique feel of the studio. I also liked the idea of supporting a small business in downtown White Bear Lake. It wasn't long after starting classes that I started noticing improvements in my mind and body. Once family and friends noticed those improvements, I was pretty motivated to build on my progress. Now Pilates and Barre/Reformer classes at Summit are a consistent, healthy habit. I schedule classes like any other activity, it's on the calendar, and as a family, we plan around it.

    While the fundamentals of Summit's classes are often similar, but no class is ever the same. All the instructors have their style, there are many exercise variations, tools to use, and you control what focus you bring to it each day. Some days I'm tired and just want to focus on proper form or feeling the stretch of an exercise. Other days I'm full of energy or have stress to burn and want to "make it cardio" or progress the exercise to challenge my balance or strength. What keeps me coming back are the results. A stronger mind-body connection, releasing stress, increased strength, and toning of my entire body including my core. I finally feel comfortable wearing a bikini again. Now that's something to celebrate!”

    “I found Summit from a recommendation from a friend. At the time, I was rehabbing small shoulder and hip injuries from years of wear and tear that seemed to be never ending . I was feeling beat up from my usual work out routines and frustrated with the results. I was feeling tired. I needed something different. Exercise had always been a part of my life from high school and college sports to running yoga and dance. Pilates was about the only thing I had never tried. I was concerned that Pilates wouldn’t give me the mind body connection and adrenaline rush that I was looking for from a work out. I was wrong!!!!

    I immediately fell in love with the studio. It’s a beautiful, welcoming space. Alex and all the instructors are welcoming and quickly got me up to speed on the machines ( which I was slightly intimidated by) . Summit has a class for all my needs; reformer, barre and cardio. Each instructor offers their own style so I never get bored. I love my family at Summit and look forward to going whenever I can. I feel strong, injury free and mindful. Summit motivated me to make other changes in my life and since January I’ve lost 30 pounds and have never felt stronger in my life . Just in time for my 50th birthday!”
