Pilates Reformer

Our Pilates Reformer classes will teach you the fundamentals of Pilates to connect, engage and strengthen your powerhouse. Pilates is a wonderful form of physical activity for all fitness levels and ages. At Summit Pilates you will practice on the reformer, mat, tower, and chair. Utilizing the various props in your practice will help you discover a greater mind-body awareness, improve any muscle imbalances you may have, and strengthen and tone the entire body with a major emphasis on your CORE.  

Barre/Pilates Combo Classes

Embrace the burn and experience a quicker paced class. This format fuses Pilates Reformer and Barre exercises for the ultimate workout. Pilates and Barre are both forms of exercise that are gentle on your joints and help you build overall strength and flexibility.

Barre Sculpt

This class combines traditional Barre and strength training. The barre is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on high reps of small range-of-motion movements, while also fusing in larger heavier weight exercises.
Looking for a challenging workout that will strengthen, tone, and keep your muscles lean, yet gentle on your joints? Barre is the class for you! You will see results quickly with barre, it's a one-stop shop that includes all the essentials of a well-rounded exercise program that focuses on improving your flexibility, strength and endurance.

Circuit Pilates

Experience intervals of cardio and strength training in this circuit-based Pilates class. Challenge your mental toughness and stamina as you push through this exciting, fun and quick paced class. The group will run through multiple functional training circuits using a variety of equipment including the reformer to improve your overall strength and endurance in your day-to-day activities. Be prepared to take this workout outdoors when weather allows. The 4pm Tuesday CIRCUIT class meets at West Park in White Bear Lake. Wear your tennis shoes, bring water, and dress appropriately.

Advanced Pilates Sculpt

This more challenging Pilates Reformer flow will incorporate compound movements and sets of exercise series using heavier weights and other equipment both on and off the Pilates apparatuses. The goal of this class is to build muscle and take your practice to the next level.

Reformer Active Stretch

Traditionally, Pilates is based on 'loading the long contraction' and stretching is very important part of the practice. The focus of this class is to use the Reformer and other tools which focus on lengthening, stretching and literally reforming the tightness inherent in connective tissues.  The exercises are both active and sustained, there are no passive (inert) activities, so the body is strengthening as it is propped, suspended or pulled on in many expansive and elongating motions. Active Stretching is a total body experience  and all activities can be adapted for any biomechanical issues.
